Vereinsnachrichten – December 2011 (Club News)

WEIHNACHTSFEIER (CHRISTMAS PARTY): DECEMBER 11TH BEGINNING AT 2PM

Presents: The DASV will be purchasing the gifts for the children of members ages 12 and under. In order for your child to receive a present from Santa please call Queen Wendy at 313-884-2512 as soon as possible. The cost of a present should not exceed $15. If you are planning on bringing a grandchild or other children please let Wendy know, so that way she can make sure we have enough candy to hand out to the children with their presents.
Decorating: Saturday December 10th – 9am (all members encouraged to help)
Desserts: All members are encouraged to bring desserts for our Christmas Dinner. These could be cakes, cookies or other wonderful sweets.

Entertainment: Queen Wendy has arranged for a Magician to entertain everyone. It should be a wonderful experience for all. Ken Burney has asked that if anyone would like to share a Christmas poem or any other type of reading to please give him a call at 586-292-5092.
Raffle: We also need raffle donations from the membership. The Christmas raffle, will take place once Santa leaves. This raffle is a fun part of our annual tradition of celebrating Christmas at the DASV. The raffle prizes should be good quality items that you would love to receive yourself. (All prizes need to be gift-wrapped). The last item in the raffle is always the Christmas tree (without the lights). (King James and Queen Wendy have donated a beautiful tree this year)

Cost: $6 per member, children of members 12 years and younger will be free. Non-members will be $14 per person; non-member children between the ages of 6 and 12 years of age will be $6. All children 5 years old or younger are admitted free of charge. Come out and have a great time with the family.

Note: The kitchen needs help the morning of the Party set-up December 10th at 9:00am to peel potatoes. The kitchen also needs help cooking the day of the Party; please give Chris Burney a call if you are available to help. The festivities will not begin until the Kitchen has been cleaned up so everyone can participate in the fun. So please let Christine Burney know if you are able to offer some of your time to help in the kitchen.

SYLVESTER 2011-2012 (SORGENBRECHER NEW YEARS EVE PARTY @ DASV): DECEMBER 31ST

Doors open: 6:00pm.
Dinner: 8:00pm (Roast Pork Loin or Rouladen)
Music: The Sorgenbrecher will be performing for your dancing pleasure.
Cost: $55 / person, $100 / couple
Reservations: Call Virginia Werner at 586-749-6231 if you plan on coming!
Note: Paul Werner is in need of help behind the bar on New Years Eve. If you can help; please call him at 313-526-6020.

D.A.S.V. 2011 ELECTION: JANUARY 8, 2012 1:00PM

On January 8th we will have our annual Election meeting. This meeting will begin at 1:00pm with out any shooting taking place before the meeting. There will be a break for dinner, and then the election meeting will take place. It is important that every member come out for this meeting. This is the time were you can make a difference by either volunteering your services to become part of the new board or in helping nominate someone you feel would do a great job for this club of ours.

SCHLACHTFEST: JANUARY 21ST

Schlachtfest is coming up soon on January 21st, save this date for this popular event. More information to follow in next month’s newsletter.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

Our membership dues are due once again. Our membership dues are due in January. The dues have not changed for 2012. Single and Family memberships are $65, Retiree memberships for those members that are retired and have been members for 25 years are $30 and our Honorary members are not required to pay dues, they are however encouraged to make donations. Members joining in the last quarter of the year (Oct – Dec) are paid for the following year. Dues are to be made out to the D.A.S.V. and given to the 1st Secretary. Bring your dues to the election meeting.

SHOOTING RESULTS

This months prize shooting winners were: Group 1: Carl Griffin (29), Ronny Arndt (27); Group 2: Marc Friedrich (28), Bob Waltenspiel (less than Marc); Senior Group: Siegfried Arndt (30 x3), Heinz Hoffmann (30-29); Ladies Group: Wendy Binder (30-29), Barb Geppert (29-29). Ein dreifach – Gut Schuss to everyone who participated.
