Members Award Luncheon
A potluck luncheon held in January to honor members for their years of membership and distinguished service to the Club.
Pig Roast
Typically our first outdoor festival held in June and open to the public. Wonderful food, drink and live music.
KrÖnungsball (Coronation Ball)
Held in October, this member’s only ball a the Schützenhaus celebrates the new King and Queen and their court.
Bockbierfest
An indoor festival open to the public, typically the first major club event of the year held in April, to gather and celebrate the arrival of Bockbier, a traditional Bavarian beer that is dark in color and generally has a malty character with a caramel and roasted flavor that finishes slightly sweet.
SchÜtzenfest
Schützenfest, or the Marksmen’s Festival, is a traditional celebration featuring a shooting competition where members compete by shooting at a wooden eagle, and the winner is crowned the Schützenkönig (King of the Marksmen) for the year. This is the club’s premier festival held on the last Sunday in July and open to the public.
Bivak
A warm fire to close out the outdoor events season and ceremoniously retire the Maibaum wreath. Members only and held in October/November.
Maibaum Dedication
The Maibaum, also known as the Maypole, is a tall, decorated tree or pole traditionally erected in Germany and Austria an May 1st or the eve of May Day. It symbolizes spring, fertility, and the reawakening of life. The Maibaum is often adorned with ribbons, wreaths, and guild signs. At the D.A.S.V., we have a ceremony that officially opens our outdoor festival and marksmanship season.
Oktoberfest
The first Oktoberfest was held on October 12, 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen. The D.A.S.V. holds this widely popular, open to the public event in September/October to celebrate German heritage and our club.
Weihnachtsfeier (Christmas Party)
Members only party at the Schützenhaus, includes Christmas Dinner, raffles and gift exchanges to close out the year.
